Discharge

Process that removes the dye of the garment returning it to the original color of the fabric. Pigments can be added to replace the fabric color. It works best on dark 100% cotton garments specially formulated for discharge, so the fabric type is the limiting factor. Straight discharge with no added pigments will turn the print an off-white bone color. The original color of the shirt may effect how the discharge ink works, so exact PMS colors can not be guaranteed. After the garment is washed, you will not be able to feel the print. Discharge printing is more expensive since it has a shelf life and leftover ink can’t be reused.
